Each of Equest's horses provides therapy for 15 disabled riders every year.
Each of Equest's horses provides therapy for 15 disabled riders every year. All riders adults as well must fill out a riding consent form prior to the ride. Wesley Woods has around 40 head of horses consisting of Quarter Horses, Arabians, a mule, a donkey, and Percheron Draft horses.
Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship needs 33 therapy horses to meet the needs of our disabled riders. Rides are scheduled with the equestrian coordinator, preferably 2 weeks in advance, to include anywhere from 4-12 riders.
