Everything you wanted to know about Sabino Horses!

Most sabinos have a wide blaze, some have bald faces, but most do not have the completely white head of the splashed whites. Pony, Arabian, and even the Quarter Horse for some breeders. He is very interested, as are many here, about the Curly horses. The first picture was taken in 1990 when the horse was 13. Note the two references that talk about curly haired horses. This mare Red Factor tested as a chestnut base color. Tobiano as they do occur on horses who do not have this pattern. Paints, Thoroughbreds, Clydesdales and many others. Many counts mark this as the year when they acquired curly haired horses.

Breeding for the sabino pattern has a few interesting quirks. The white will most usually cross over the spine of the horse between the withers and the tail. Some, as the cute mare below, displays Sabino and Tobiano markings which is not unusual since both genes may be present in the same horse. Again! Strangely, we see the exact same markings yet again.
